Georg Pauli, (1855-1935), painter, writer, Sweden.

93 x 61 cm.

A rare cubistic painting, c, 1914, signed G P. The National museum in Stockholm has a Pauli painting with 3 bathing youths with a similar compositon, painted 1914. ( See photos)

Pauli was a painter with classic art education and studies in landscape painting in France and fresco painting in Italy. He studied in his middleage a period for André Lothe, he liked that Lothe in his cubistic style never leaved reality. Pauli published the radical Swedish art magazine "Flamman", 1917-1919, and wrote there about the new art streams in Europe.
