Zanzibar/Oman Shield, Hippopotamus Or Rhinoceros Hide.

This type of shields comes probably originally from Oman and were produced on Zanzibar and in the Arabian peninsula. These shields were traded from Zanzibar to the African east coast up to Somalia and Ethiopia. In some literature are this type of shields said to be from the Oromo people in Ethiopia and Somalia but later science, museums and early literature refer these shields to Oman and Zanzibar.

Hippopotamus or rhinoceros hide and brass emblems.
