Excellent Poro society Wanyugo helmet mask from the Senufo people in Ivory Coast. 

Provenance: Peter Von Busch collection, acquired 1962. Exhibited at  "Before Picasso" African Art in Swedish collections, Liljewalchs Konsthall, 2 Dec 1988- 15 Jan 1989, and published in the catalogue, No: 96, photo page 64. Louisiana Museum, Denmark "Afrika, Afrika!", 18 Mars 1989 - 11 Juni 1989. No: 99.

Peter von Busch (1935-2016), Art Historian, Ethnologist, Museum chief for the Naval Museum in Karlskrona, expert in the Swedish Antique roadshow "Antikrundan". Started to collect Tribal art in the 1950´s.
