$0.00

A very fine doll figure carved in animal bone with incised features, representing a partly dressed woman. These figurines found in Egypt and Palestine are from the Early Islamic period 7th C. to 10th C. and often called Coptic dolls. The function of these bone figurines are controversial. Some researchers believe they are toys designed to prepare girls for motherhood, while others believe they are fertility figurines. Each doll have distinct features even if they shared the same concept.
