Spike bracelets from Oman called Banagir bu shawk or bu Njum, (spikes or star bracelets). Omani jewelry is distinctive in its styling and execution. These particular bracelets were made until the 1950s and were worn by girls and women aged 14 and over. They are believed to be fertility bracelets with the spikes signifying breasts.
The material in this string choker is silver, coral, Venetian beads and enamel.
